CONDITIONS OF APPEARANCE: Dacite is commonly found in volcanic arcs around the world, including the Andes, the Cascades, and the Aleutians. It can also be found in intrusions and sills, which are magma bodies that solidified underground. Dacite can appear in a range of colors, including gray, brown, green, and red, depending on the presence of minerals like iron and magnesium.
